about

{TCE-071B}

"Recorded in the late 1990's, these three Theophagus songs reflect the recent purchase of a Roland 505 Groovebox... [The first track] combines a barely-tongue-in-cheek techno extravaganza with a microcassette of friends Noah [Nelson] and [Kevin] Hinely drunkenly howling Guns 'n' Roses lyrics. After a somewhat urgent, gabber-influenced noise piece...it close[s] with 'Our Special Guest', a precursor to both The Soundry Courter Project and later material from Recreational Episiotomy - specifically, using portions of an Ernie Anderson blooper reel as a...centerpiece."
